Tooth Extractions

While we always will do our best to save your tooth in Oldsmar, there are some times when extraction is the best option. Wisdom teeth that are not growing into your mouth properly, or a tooth that is simply too damaged to be saved are examples of a necessary extraction.

Alveoloplasty

Alveoloplasty is also known as jaw bone smoothing. It is often required after extractions or before getting dental implants or dentures, and involves smoothing down the bony ridges surrounding your missing teeth to recreate the natural contour of the gums. Smoothing these ridges down allows for a more comfortable fit for your implant, bridge, or prosthesis and ensures the best possible results from healing.

Bone Grafting & Socket Preservation

If a tooth needs to be removed, Dr. Pan will usually recommend a procedure to preserve the natural width of your jawbone by placing a dental bone graft in order to add volume and density. There are many benefits to rebuilding the area where bone loss has occurred such as preserving the bone to adjacent teeth to reduce further damage in the area to preparing the tooth site for a future implant or bridge.
